Philargyrius Iunius
Philargyrius Iunius
or Philargyrus, or Iunilius Flagrius. An early commentator upon Vergil, who wrote upon the Bucolics and Georgics. His observations are less elaborate than those of Servius, and have descended to us in a mutilated condition. The period when he flourished is altogether uncertain. They are printed in the edition of Vergil by Burmann and in the edition of the commentaries of Servius by Lion (Göttingen, 1825- 26).
